Car Travel

It's easy to reach Geneseo by car via Route 20A or New York State Routes 63 and 39, all of which pass through the village. New York State Thruway (U.S. 90) Exits 46 and 48 are about 20 miles north of Geneseo at Rochester and Batavia.

Take Route 390 North to Exit 7; Route 63/39 North (approximately 3 miles); turn left at the second traffic light onto Main Street (Route 39); see below.

Take the NYS Thruway to Exit 46; Route 390 South to Exit 8; Route 20A West (approximately five miles); turn right at the third traffic light onto Main Street (Route 39); see below.

Take the first left, Park Street; take it down the hill and park in I lot (K and T are also acceptable). Walk to the MacVittie College Union, building 14 on lower campus map.

Air Travel

You may make air travel plans by scheduling a flight to the Greater Rochester International Airport which is approximately 30 minutes from the Geneseo campus. The following airlines are served: Air Canada, AirTran, American Airlines, Continental Airways, Delta Airlines, JetBlue Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airways, US Airways. Please consult your local travel agent or the airline directly for scheduling information and ticket costs. Transportation from the airport to Geneseo can be arranged through Empire Trailways or a rental car agent at the airport. For Rochester airport information, please call (585) 464-6001. The Geneseo Airport, located within minutes of the campus, serves small aircraft and is available to private pilots. For more information about the Geneseo airport, please call (585) 243-2100.

Train Travel

Amtrak operates daily trains to Rochester. You may arrange transportation from Rochester to Geneseo through Empire Trailways; the Amtrak station in Rochester is located six blocks from the bus station; downtown taxi cabs are available throughout the city of Rochester for your convenience. Bus Travel

If you will be traveling by bus to Geneseo, you'll want to contact the Empire Trailways Bus Lines. For schedule information and ticket costs for Empire Trailways call (800) 295-5555. From Albany and points east and from Cleveland and points west and southwest, all bus lines travel to Rochester where, if necessary, you can transfer to Empire Trailways. The 50 minute bus trip from Rochester to Geneseo leaves at 8:35 am (daily), and also 4:15 pm on Friday, and 1:30 pm on Sunday. From New York's Southern Tier and points south and southeast, bus lines would travel to Elmira where you can transfer to Empire Trailways. Daily trips on Trailways leave Elmira at 4:00 pm and arrive in Geneseo at 6:30 pm. Please contact Trailways for any changes to this schedule. Once you arrive in the village of Geneseo, the campus is within walking distance from the bus stop, down the hill from Main Street.

The Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA) also prvodies some bus service in the area. You can view Geneseo related bus service here. Bus service is provided around Geneseo daily and to Rochester and back on week-ends.
